How it works
A simple loop that runs continuously.
Numio observes your Cloud and AI spend, evaluates every finding against your budgets, tagging standards and policies, and acts — from a notification to an executed change, within the permissions you grant. Not a report you open once a month.
The operating loop
Observe · Evaluate · Act
-
01
Observe
Unified view of spend, usage and attribution across AWS, GCP, Azure and AI providers. One place, one set of definitions.
-
02
Evaluate
Every finding is weighed against your budgets, tagging standards and policies. Each one ships with projected impact, the rule that produced it, and the owner of the affected resource.
-
03
Act
Notify owners, open tickets, propose remediation — or execute within your guardrails.
A stream of small, constant decisions and actions. Continuous, not monthly.
The foundation
Nothing works without attribution. So Numio manages it.
Visibility into resource utilization is only possible when every resource is tagged. With Kubernetes or SageMaker that is not trivial. LLM APIs do not offer it at all. Numio manages tags consistently across all resource types and vendors, and keeps them honest as resources come and go.
Tag standards are the start, not the end. Teams create untagged resources and forget unused ones. Numio monitors this continuously, identifies the likely owner, and runs organization-wide campaigns that make attribution discipline stick. Attribution coverage improves week over week.
What you get
Infrastructure cost per business activity and per transaction, in any business function, with trends over time. A standardized business-activity taxonomy links every resource to the work it supports — not only to a department or a region.
Why it matters
Automated, fine-grained cost versus business activity gives Business, CFO and CEO a common language.
Unit economics at a finer grain
Cost per transaction
Know what serving one customer really costs.
Cost per AI interaction
The unit economics of each model call.
Cost per campaign
Compare initiatives on a fair basis.
Risk control
Act in a way you control.
No risk
Inform · Recommend · Escalate
Surface what changed, where and why. Propose a concrete next step with an owner. Route ambiguous cases to a human.
Low risk · within guardrails
Execute
Clean up orphaned snapshots. Pause idle non-production instances. Enforce tag compliance on new resources.
You choose which tier applies — per environment, per action, per team.
The right action, at the right moment
Hibernate a system
Suspend idle dev or non-production workloads on schedule, or when usage drops.
Rightsize resources
Reduce instance size, memory or replica counts when utilization is persistently low.
Notify
Spend spikes and anomalies, to the owner, with context.
Remind
Pending actions and deadlines.
Explain
What changed and why.
Recommend
A concrete next step with projected impact.
Human + agent
Your team shapes the agent's work. Agents need context only humans have.
- You inform tagging and ownership
- Numio fills the attribution gaps.
- You describe the business process
- Numio links systems to the work they support.
- You report special usages
- Numio identifies them and flags legitimate exceptions.
- You confirm or reject proposed actions
- Numio follows through.
Adoption
Move at your own pace and keep the control.
Default
Read-only
Numio connects with scoped read access. Full visibility without touching infrastructure.
When ready
Scoped automation
Grant the narrowest permissions for the specific actions you want automated, and see the reasoning Numio used.
You only allow the actions you want — when you are comfortable.
AI spend visibility
Token Meter gives every AI dollar an owner.
A transparent gateway between your applications and the LLM providers. 100% of requests routed through it are rated, attributed and logged: cost per 1,000 tokens, per model, per team, per app, per use case. No code changes in your applications.
Questions a BI tool cannot answer
- Is the AI application being adopted by teams?
- Is its usage intensity increasing?
- Could a simpler, cheaper model do the job?
- Is user feedback up to our standards? Is it improving?
Usage limits that hold
Ceilings per user, app or agent — daily, weekly or monthly. When the cap is reached, spend stops. No surprises in the bill.
Every shift in behaviour, surfaced
Changes in usage by agent, individual or application are highlighted for review. Management sees outliers early, not in next month's invoice.
Alerts before the overrun
Numio tracks usage intensity and projects the trend — flagging a budget at risk while there is still time to act.
Pay only for the model you need
Usage data shows where a smaller model performs just as well — typically cutting that workload's cost to a quarter, or less.
Integrations and trust
What Numio connects to, and what it keeps
- Cloud
- AWS, GCP, Azure.
- AI providers
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Vertex, and any provider reachable through the Token Meter gateway.
- Credentials
- Scoped, read-only by default; write permissions granted per action, revocable at any time.
- Data
- Cost and usage metadata needed to produce findings. Nothing else.
